I worked for an editorial company in Italy called Battello a Vapore, which is a publisher established in 1992, offering a wide variety of fiction books suitable for a readership ranging from 3 to 13 years. My goal within the company was to take a book from start to finish – do the graphic design of the book, but especially the art direction. I was responsible for a variety of books and here I want to show you some of them. Among my art direction responsibilities were the coordination of deliverables from the writer and the illustrator, and the preparation of the final artwork to the specifications required by the printer which challenged me both as a design and art director.
